To prepare for acupuncture for the first time, it is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to eat a light meal beforehand. It is also important to stay hydrated and to avoid consuming caffeine or alcohol before your appointment.
Many of our patients have sensitivities to smells or allergies. Please be considerate of others.
You are always in control of your session. If you feel uncomfortable or if a particular modality or service does not resonate with you, please speak up. It's important for us to know what works best for you. Your journey is about harmonizing and balancing your life, and we understand that each of us is unique.
Please be aware that certain treatments such as corticosteroid injections, epidurals, stem cell therapy, vaccinations, Botox, and fillers may be counterintuitive. Many Asian medical practices focus on revitalizing, stimulating, and harmonizing tissues and nerves, which may contradict the intended effects of these injections. It's important to consider and discuss these potential conflicts, as they may also affect the practitioner's approach.
Asian modalities such as herbal formulas, gua sha, cupping, massage, and acupuncture may not be suitable or may require caution when combined with certain prescriptions such as blood thinners. Please seek advice and have a discussion.
